Boxers Lin Yu Ting And Imane Khelif Cleared For Olympics

Boxers Lin Yu-ting and Imane Khelif cleared for Olympics

IOC gives green light to boxers from Taiwan and Algeria after eligibility issues

Algerian Olympic committee condemns "baseless attacks" on boxer Khelif

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has cleared boxers Lin Yu-ting of Taiwan and Imane Khelif of Algeria to compete in the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo. Both boxers had faced eligibility issues, but the IOC has now ruled that they are eligible to compete.

Khelif was initially ruled ineligible to compete in the Olympics after the Algerian Boxing Federation (FAB) withdrew her from the team. The FAB claimed that Khelif had not met the necessary criteria to compete in the Olympics, but Khelif appealed the decision to the IOC.

The IOC ruled in Khelif's favor, and she is now eligible to compete in the Olympics. The IOC also ruled that Lin Yu-ting is eligible to compete in the Olympics, despite the fact that Taiwan is not a member of the IOC.

The Algerian Olympic Committee (COA) condemned the "baseless attacks" on Khelif, and said that she is a "role model for young Algerians." The COA also said that it is confident that Khelif will represent Algeria well in the Olympics.

Khelif and Lin Yu-ting are both expected to be strong contenders for medals in the Olympics. Khelif is a two-time African champion, and Lin Yu-ting is a two-time Asian champion.

The Olympics will be held in Tokyo from July 23 to August 8.
