LTO Releases Guidelines for Motorcycle Temporary Plates
LTO Conducts New Regulations
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued Memorandum Circular No. JMT-2023-2400, which provides guidelines for the use of temporary plates for motorcycles.
Key Points
The circular applies to motorcycles that are not yet registered with the LTO or that have lost their original plates.
Temporary plates can only be used for a maximum of 90 days.
The owner of the motorcycle must apply for a temporary plate at an LTO office or through an authorized dealer or repair shop.
The application must include the original Certificate of Registration (OR) or the Certificate of Title, as well as proof of insurance.
The LTO will issue a temporary plate with a unique number that must be displayed on the front and rear of the motorcycle.
Owners must keep the temporary plate receipt as proof of ownership.
Failure to comply with the guidelines may result in penalties.
